"Freedom" (charcoal diptych) commissioned 25 years ago has become an iconic watermark for M3B and a profound expression of client breakthroughs. "Freedom" was inspired by Michelle's early years living on The Navajo (Diné) Nation.
The Wild Horse: Origin of a Philosophy

The wild horse is not only the watermark for M3B —it is the origin story. She grew up "Bilagaana" within the Diné community of Shiprock, New Mexico, where the high desert teaches you quickly what it means to listen, adapt and endure. As a young girl, Michelle was captivated by wild horses—their innate intelligence, their quiet coordination, their ability to thrive in unforgiving conditions. She would ride her bicycle in search of the herds, content to watch them move together, bound by trust, instinct, and unspoken order. You might take the girl out of the Navajo Nation, but you can never take the Navajo Nation out of the girl! The horse became a totem—embodying values that have guided Michelle's life and work. Those who know her witness her stealth energy, a deep and unwavering sense of truth, and an unforced harmony with the natural world. Horses act with clarity as does Michelle, responding to the environment with precision, presence, and wisdom. These qualities bring strategic leadership, transformation, and informed decision-making to every project.

Within Diné culture, the wild horse holds profound spiritual significance, representing a sacred connection to creation, freedom, and cultural continuity. The stewardship and management of wild horses is a deeply sensitive and meaningful issue that calls for respect, nuance, and humility.
Beowulf: Origin of The Way
"Upright, rudimentary, unshiftably planked in the long ago, yet willable forward again and again and again." - Beowulf: the Poem

Driven by Consumers. Defined by Breakthroughs.

When I launched M3B over 25 years ago, the “B” stood for Beowulf—a nickname my dad, an English teacher, gave me when I was young. He saw in me something of the Scandinavian warrior from the epic poem: a loyalty to truth and a willingness to meet challenges head-on. Those qualities have stayed with me as an entrepreneur. They keep me grounded in what matters and moving forward—resulting in breakthrough moments. Breakthrough reflects our work and the character of Beowulf represents the way—with integrity, courage, and clarity.
